Living Flow Ashram - A Kerala Regeneration retreat. Navaratri Shakti and Kalarippayatu Vinyasa

Our inner fire is our vitality, truth, soul’s calling and devotion. Experience a retreat of a lifetime to India, as we offer our 12th annual Living Flow Ashram in a relaxed, yet invigorating rhythm in a healing ocean sanctuary overlooking the Malabar Coast of Kerala. Also offering Rejuvenation Massage package with three massages for your retreat time.

Our “Living Flow Ashram” is created with love by Shiva, pujaris and the teachers from Ayurvedic center. We will live in the rhythm of vinyasa, spending most of our hours in natural light and the fresh prana.Through morning and evening meditation, transformational prana flow yoga and your choice studying Kalarippaytu with Shiva's teachers or relaxing deeper into the ayurvedic treatments, we will integrate into our cellular body the process of living flow in rhythm with the pulse of life.

Located at the southern tip of India, Kerala is one of the most culturally rich areas of India, and is blessed with lush green coconut palms, forests, paddy fields, rivers and beautiful beaches. We will embody the connection to the elements with outdoor yoga practice under the coconut palm trees in the sacred yoga space that Shiva helped establish in this sanctuary 10 years ago.

This year our pilgrimages retreat coincides with Navaratri ~ we will celebrate Shakti in all forms and within our own embodiment of yoga in the healing landscape of lush Kerala including Kerala massage, tantric meditation, intensive prana flow yoga, optional kalarippayatu training, ayurveda lifestyle teachings, and temple pilgrimages.

This Retreat offers a 10-day Living Flow Ashram

Based upon the teachings of Krishnamacharya's lineage, Tantra, Sacred Arts, Ayurveda, Bhakti and Somatics, Embodying the Flow models the synthesis approach to integrating the roots and evolution of living yoga that Shiva has been pioneering for over 20 years of teaching in the fertile soil of LA's yoga community and annual retreats to India.

We will create a Living Yoga Ashram during our training as a community-based, dynamic, creative, and rejuvenative approach to teacher training. You will begin teaching the first day and leave empowered to begin practice teaching or elevating your current teaching.

Our unique program also provides year-long support for living vinyasa through Samudra's Global Online program with a community of teachers.

Teacher Training

Navaratri Shakti & Kalarippayatu Vinyasa Immersion with Shiva Rea and teachers of CVN Kalari, Gurukaal Sathya Narayan and Rajashekaran Nayar

Experience an immersion into the art, practices, and realization of the yogic-tantric view of the "body as temple". Your immersion will bring you into the capital city of Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram for seven Kalari Shakti daily practices at CVN Kalari with Shiva's teachers leading to the practice sequence of the "Puttara Vandanam" or core namaskar of Kalarippayatu. These sessions will be complemented by sunset yoga sessions for the entire retreat with Shiva as well as special programs. This will deepen your experience of yogic embodiment and initiate you into the practice of Kalarippayatu - a requirement for teaching any aspect of the KalariVinyasa pathway in Prana Flow.

Teacher Intensive Includes:

Six days of Kalari practice at CVN Kalari with Sathyan Narayan and Rajeshekaranarayan and two workshops with Shiva

Navaratri rituals at Saraswati and Devi temples

Video sequence of the Kalari Vinyasa developed by Shiva to practice in preparation to teach

Daily transportation to and from Trivandrum for Kalari in private taxis (this is an interesting 30 min drive each way)

50 hours teacher training credit including opportunity for permission to teach the Kalari Vinyasa developed as a preparation to Kalarippayatu by Shiva with video certification post-training (This option is for 200-500 hour program electives, cannot be substituted for core modules)

About Kalarippayatu

Experience a dynamic introduction to the ancient Indian martial art form kalaripayattu, or kalari, and its shared roots within yoga and Ayurveda. Kalari is an embodied art form that is considered to be one of the oldest "martial art" forms in the world as warrior training is part of this profound and beautiful fluid form. Practiced in a Kalari - a temple created on the raw earth - this form complements the sacred relationship to the body in yoga while giving expression to the embodied power of shakti that is received from the earth and liberated through movement flow, meditation and marma massage. Shiva's roots are part of CVN Kalari in Thiruvanathapuram with her teachers Sathya Narayan and Rajashekaran Nayar who will be leading the intensive. The fees support the clinic of CVN Kalari which treats patients at a low cost. Cost: $350 for 50 hours elective hours of teaching training credit.
