Ingrid Mateos

Location: Indianapolis Level: 200 HR RYT Studio(s): Consciousness Movement
Ingrid has been a vinyasa yoga practitioner since 2002. For Ingrid, embodying yoga and dance has been a way of consciousness awakening and safe heaven in all aspects of her life. The transformation that happens during a yoga/conscious dance practice influences the daily routine activities at work and home. The daily mental and physical demands of the corporate world, life changes as we get older and family affairs often deplete one’s Prana (life energy). Having a routine practice helps restore Prana, empowering you to live life in the present moment.

When Ingrid discovered Prana Flow Vinyasa she immediately fell in love with the dancing flow nature of the sequences and the relationship of the practice to the elements, chakras, seasons, moon/sun cycles and Ayurveda.

Her own personal practice of yoga, dance, passion for music and creative inner guidance led to the development of her Conscious Movement Meditation in 2013, a conscious dance modality, which she facilitated for 2 years with her beloved husband Luis.

As a native of Puerto Rico, feeling and moving to percussive and melodic rhythms has always been Ingrid’s way of life. Her deep love for music and creativity, whether dancing, singing or playing musical instruments provided key elements for the solid foundation of her body movement practice. Ingrid's gifted heart-felt and magical voice that reaches and moves the soul always adds an exquisite culmination at the end of her practices. She has delighted many audiences since childhood with her talents as a singer accompanying herself with guitar and keyboard.

Ingrid's professional training as a scientist provided her with essential knowledge and understanding of the physiological and mental domains, and the benefits that can be achieved through movement meditative practices in conjunction with the healing powers of music.

In 2014 she decided to enroll in the 200 Hour Prana Flow Vinyasa Yoga Teacher training program, to continue to share with her community the transformation that happens when yoga and dance are combined. In October of 2015 she received her teacher certification in Prana Flow Vinyasa Yoga, including Yoga Trance Dance.
